PRODUCT AND LEARNING
Over the course of three evenings and two days, we will help participants to develop, film and edit a 1-3 minute narrative film that will screen on Sunday 1/31 to families and at POWFest in March 2016. The instruction portion of POWGirls will consist of media production training; pre-production (collaborative story creation, storyboarding) camera operation, audio recording, and post-production using industry-standard software. This is a great way to build your resume and/or reel.
Enrollment Limit: 12
Participants should be 15-19 year old girls who are interested in learning how to make a professional movie with a team from start to finish. Girls may be interested in pursuing further studies in drama, film, TV, advertising, marketing, business, etc. Participants must commit to attending every day of the workshop; the work is intense but fun!
POWGirls is a trans* inclusive organization, supporting all girls in their media education. It is POWFest’s goal to be inclusive of all women’s voices, regardless of race, class, age, religion, ability, sexuality or gender presentation.
